Smartboard Review Activity

VOCAB MATCH  - Click on this link to take you to SMARTnotebook matching activity.  After you have completed the 5 slides of matching. Use your VOCAB SHEET TO CHECK YOUR WORK.

Listed below are 4 different review activities we will be working on to help us review our VOCABULARY WORDS.  Please complete them in order.  If you need to download an attachment you will find it on the right of the page.  Some activities require you to open a word document.  When you download a document       SAVE IT!  When you finish a document... SAVE it and PRINT off a copy to be turned in. READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!  These activities will be due December 5th.

ACTIVITIES:
1. Download graphic organizer #1. - Use tab on right
     Type the word
    Type the definition
    Create an example or synonym
    Create a nonexample or antonym

2. Open up a word document and use each word in a
sentence.(WATCH Capitalization/Punctuation)

3. Using
www.dictionary.com type in each prefix (one at a time) and see what words show up under the prefix.  Try and find
five words that are not on your vocab list but share the same prefix.  Then look up the word and use the graphic organizer #2 to write the word and the definition.  Then see if you can tell how the prefix adds to the meaning of the word.

For example when you type com, the word compound is listed below in the text predict.  When I look up compound I see it means: two or more parts or elements or ingredients. So, I can see how the prefix COM (which means together with) is seen in that word.  A compound is when two or more parts or elements or ingredients come together! Below is how I could fill out the
chart.
Word: compound
Def: two or more parts or elements or ingredients
Explain: A compound is when two or more parts or elements or ingredients come together

4.  Get some index cards and create flashcards for you to review your vocabulary words.  Put your words on one side and the definition on the other side.

Use the tabs below for any documents needed for VOCAB review.
