These characteristics help us to define and recognize fairytales and folktalkes. Each of the Fairytale/Folktale links below has a host of stories to read and listen to. We will use the chart of fairytale/folktale characteristics we made during our research to analyze the stories we read. Along with the links below some examples of fairytales and folktales can be found in our literacy center in the classroom.

After analyzing stories for basic characteristics we will focus on identifying the narrative elements of a story as well as analyzing the characters (characterization) of the story and how the main events change or impact their character. We will use the graphic organizers and information below to help us organize our findings.
