Subject and Predicate
Subject - who or what the sentence is about
Predicate - what the subject is "being" or is doing
Simple Subject - the one word or words that tells the MAIN noun of the subject
Simple Predicate - the one word or words that tells the MAIN verb of the predicate
Compound Subject - When there are two or more main nouns in the subject joined with a connecting word and/or commas
Compound Predicate - When there are two or more main verbs in the predicate joined with a connecting word an/or commas
