It is the highest law in the country. It creates Presidency, Congress, and Supreme Court.
Can the Constitution be changed?
Yes, but only by amendment.
What is the Bill of Rights?
The first 10 amendments to the Constitution. These are rights that US citizens have and the government is not allowed to break these rights.
What are some of the rights in the Bill or Rights?
Right of Free Speech, Right to practice your own Religion, Right to remain silent if arrested, Freedom from having to house soldiers, Freedom from police entering your house without a good reason, Freedom from having to testify against yourself in court, Freedom from being given unusual punishments.
What are the three branches of government?
Created by the constitution they are the Legislative Branch, Executive Branch, and Judicial Branch.
What is the Legislative Branch?
It is called Congress and includes the House of Representatives, the Senate. The make the laws in our country.
What is the Executive Branch?
It includes the President, government agencies, and the military. The purpose is to carry out the laws in our country.

.Congress has two parts, the Senate and house of Representatives. They make laws, raise money by collecting taxes and borrowing money. They also approve the printing of money. And they can declare war.
Describe what the Judicial Branch does..
.The Supreme Court and other courts make up our judicial branch. They decide whether the laws that congress and the president pass follow the guidelines of the Constitution. They decide what the laws mean and the decide whether the laws have been followed.

There is one Chief Justice and 8 Associate Judges for a total of 9 judges on the Supreme Court.

Print Money, declare ware, run the postal system, make treaties with other countries, collect income taxes.

Issue licenses, such as marriage and driver's license, run elections, set up local government, collect income and sales taxes.
